Hi, it's me, Petar. These are some questions Ms. Lee gave us. ☺

Q: Why did Ping invite children to the palace instead of adults?
A: I think it is because Pingis a kid himself. In the beginning of the book, it said 'A long time ago in China there was a boy emperor named Ping'.
Q: All the children were competing to be the one chosen to be prime minister. Why were the children working with each other instead of competing with one another?
A: I think that they think it will be more likely that the emperor (Ping) will choose them, because he loves harmony. But, none of them got chosen.
Q: What was the little girl doing when she decided that armies, beauty, and money were not the answer? (Where was she at the time?) Why did the author write that part of the story the way she did?
A: She was sitting by a lotus pond, thinking deeply. I do not know why she wrote that part of the book that way.
Q: The author writes 'The nothing in this seedis the space in betweenwhere life exists'. What do you think the author means by that statement?
A: I think that she means that there is nothing inside the seed, but a living lotus flower comes out of it.

I think that author wanted to think about a person who can solve every problem to save the world and the person should be Sing. Otherwise, this story won't have a happy ending. The emperer won't find his prime minister.
