I think the children should have more nature because if they don't the can't live ☺☼

box

I think the reason why the kids are in the box is because they were being like too creative for the adults. They didn't want creativity. So the kids wouldn't be nuisance. They have too much freedom. The kids and the adults are both right but still wrong. The kids are wrong for being so free and do too much. The adults are wrong because they lock the kids up and only give them fake nature.

BEVER

why would they.....

why would they keep giving them things about nature if they say they can't hanndel there freedom???? when they say that they must be wrong in the head!!!!!(if you know what i mean) i think this is a wired book because all most all the kids in the world can hanndel there freedom!!! mabey not me sometimes!!! hope you like the pic!!! 2 boxes
Hi, it's me, Petar.
Three Locks

Q:When they get free, where do they go?
A: I think they would go back home, but the book doesn't say.
Q:What were the adults afraid of?
A: They were afraid that they would no longer be in control if they let the kids have their freedom.
Q:Why was there a box and three locks?
A: I think it was so the words would rhyme, or to make sure the kids would not escape, for they only get to see their parents once a week, they see very little nature, they are almost completely isolated, etc.
Q: What about the nature things?
A: they get to see very little nature. I could not imagine living like that. I do not know why the parents gave the kids fake nature things instead of real nature things, but maybe they do not understand.

KIDS HAVING FREEDOM

When they get free I think they will they will not return home because their parents agree with the people. and the community was telling them that they cant handdle their freedom. I think that they are going to have their own house and their going to live togethere.

Q&A about the gratest power

Q1: Why did Ping invite children to the palace instead of adults?

I think it's because children are more creative and imaginative, and Ping himself is also a child ,too.

Q2: All the children were competing to be the one chosen to be prime minister. Why were the children working with each other instead of competing with one another?

Maybe they're work with their friends ,so that when one of them been chosen their friend can be theprime minister, too!

Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺Hi☺

Hi, it's Me, Petar. A box.

nature

in the book they always had a pice of nature, in the big box. some of the nature things they had were flowers, chips, and plastic fish! they al have to do with nature!

Its allycat agein

I think all children should have freedom!!!!!!!!!
I think that there parents should be punished for not leting the children not be free and they can't be crazy like all kids could be. And why don't the 3 kids just brake. And why did the parents put the locks on the door when they could climb out of the box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Big Box

Hi, It's me, Petar. i wonder if it was even made of cardboard, or something else. In some pictures, the box looked small compared to the children, in some it looked big, and in some it looked ginormous. I think they missed nature. They all got fake gifts of nature, and they could not see any nature. It sounds kind of fun, but after a while it will be the opposite of fun. Maybe, it was not even a box. Maybe, they could escape.

The Big Box

I think that "The Big Box" is about how kids need ther freedom but they also need some disaplen.

The Big Box.

This book is about these children and their parents said that their having to much fun with their freedom and so they put them in the big box. The box is were the kids live in the box and they don't have their freedom and their parents come and see the 1 a week. And this box is made of steel and they can't get out but at the end they get out. This book makes me feel like kids don't get freedom any more and they don't have privacy.

The Big Box

Post me and tell me what part you like in the book caled the big box. My favorite part is they all did set free. And I like it how the book rhymes it maks the book fun. "We all agree, your parents and we, that you just can't handle your freedom." And I like the pcis becuse they have good detals thats what I like about the book.

Do you think they will get out of the box? I think they will and and run off. And somebody is going to catch them and set them in the box again. It makes me feel confused. Why are they in the box and how are they going to get out of the box?
I like the book becuse it rimes and I like rimes they are fun to read! and i like the pics they are vary good and I dont like that thay are in a boxs I think it is not cool

About the story

In the story, there was a competition for Prime Minister. All roles in the story were kids because the kids show great imagination. And they did funny things which were really...funny. Every kid worked very hard to win the competition. They worked in groups because some of their creations were too difficult to make, and they needed more partners to finish the goal.

Only a little girl, she didn't know what to do. She just stood there watching everybody start working. Actually, she was still thinking about the things which is the most precious one in the world. Finally, she showed the emperor a seed. She thought a seed is the most precious thing in the world because there was life in a seed, and after it grew up, it grew another seed and life. This shows the greatness of life which never ended in the world.

Q&A about the book

Q1: Why did Ping invite children to the palace instead of adults?
I think that is because the emperor is also young, and kids are more creative than adults.

Q2: All the children were competing to be the one chosen to be prime minister. Why were the children working with each other instead of competing with one another?
Two heads are better than one.

Q3: What was the little girl doing when she decided that armies, beauty, and money were not the answer? (Where was she at the time?) Why did the author write that part of the story the way she did?
She's by the pond.

Q4: The author writes 'The nothing in this seed is the space in between where life exists'. What do you think the author means by that statement?
A seed is a begin of a new life .Even a little thing may have an incredible power.

3Q of The Greatest Power

Q1: Why did Ping invite children to the palace instead of adults?
Because Ping is a child, he would know other children's thoughts and they could know each other easily.
Q2: All the children were competing to be the one chosen to be prime minister. Why were the children working with each other instead of competing with one another?
Working in a group can make the things better. But something i dont understand is that why the little gril was alone.
Q3: What was the little girl doing when she decided that armies, beauty, and money were not the answer? (Where was she at the time?) Why did the author write that part of the story the way she did?
She was at the lake.
The author wanted to show personality of the little gril and let the reader to know the gril is.
Q4: The author writes 'The nothing in this seed is the space in between where life exists'. What do you think the author means by that statement?
A seed can grow into plant, and it is the life begin.

I think why the emperor wanted kids because kids have colorful minds and are more creative. I think that the kids were working with one another because more minds are betterthan one. when the girl was siting by the pond she got her idea thats how I am.

ITS ALLYCAT AGEI

I think ping sent the children to the palace instead of adults because the children will live longer .
And because they will make VERY FUN LAWS

NO OFFENSE FOR ADULTS

ping

i thnk ping is really cool. and the best thing about him is that he is a boy!!! a boy my age! (11) and whan he asked that question of what is the greatest power in the wold it really was a wired thing to say at frist. i think this is what he looks like, but as a boy!!! and the cloths different.

i think he choose a the kids because they have the brains of a kid! witch means they wil make cool laws!!!! and when thay do i hope i can go!! and i will be on the frist plain to go there...... i hope you like the pic of ping older!!!!

Ping's pick

Ther is a questionand it is
  1. Why did ping choose the kids instead of the adults?. I think is because the childern is more confadent then grown ups and the have more creativety.A I say that because kids I think kids are very smarter than adults. Because adults are smart too. But childern knows more. By:makira marie Abbey$$$$$.
Hi, it's me, Petar. These are some questions Ms. Lee gave us. ☺

Q: Why did Ping invite children to the palace instead of adults?
A: I think it is because Pingis a kid himself. In the beginning of the book, it said 'A long time ago in China there was a boy emperor named Ping'.
Q: All the children were competing to be the one chosen to be prime minister. Why were the children working with each other instead of competing with one another?
A: I think that they think it will be more likely that the emperor (Ping) will choose them, because he loves harmony. But, none of them got chosen.
Q: What was the little girl doing when she decided that armies, beauty, and money were not the answer? (Where was she at the time?) Why did the author write that part of the story the way she did?
A: She was sitting by a lotus pond, thinking deeply. I do not know why she wrote that part of the book that way.
Q: The author writes 'The nothing in this seedis the space in betweenwhere life exists'. What do you think the author means by that statement?
A: I think that she means that there is nothing inside the seed, but a living lotus flower comes out of it.

The greatest power

What's the greatest power? Most smart kids in the story thought the real things are the best, but they weren't wide. Sing founda tiny lotus seed, she realized that life is the greatest power.
i agree with Sing 'cause if there is no life, and there is no anything.
The writer of this book may love the Chinese culture, even the history! Pictures are great and it's colorful! i think that's a kind of Chinese culture.

The greatest power

After reading the book ,I have some idea. It’s not easy for a young emperor to think about the difficult question. Of course ,Sing is also very special to find the answer. But ,in the real Chinese history ,it’s impossible for female to be prime ministers ,and Sing is just a little girl! Also,I am curious about the author. I think he must had researched the Chinese traditional artwork. The joss , coins ,building and even the pictures on the clothes are similar to my impression.
I think the author may be a Chinese fan!

the greatest power

Life is the greatest power~
it really makes the Earth colorful
Life is circulation and never ends as I believe in reincarnation
it's miraculous

And i think that LOVE is also the greatest power in the world

love can give us energy
love can change everything
love can make magic

Even if we have fortune
Without love
We won't be happy
and life will be meaningless
